Home and Away star Jessica Falkholt dies one day after family's funeral

Home & Away actress Jessica Falkholt has died after her life-support was turned off following a horror crash on St Stephen's Day.

Despite reports that the 29-year-old Home And Away actress had passed away, a St George Hospital spokesperson has said that Jessica remains in a 'critical condition'.

The ABC understands Jessica Falkholt's life support was turned off on Thursday night.

On Friday morning, NSW Police said there had been no official update on Jessica's condition, which was last listed as "critical".

While the parents had died instantly, the sister died three days later in the hospital.

Close friends to the actress stayed by her bedside at St George Hospital in Sydney on Wednesday as the 28-year-old's father Lars, 69, mother Vivian, 60, and sister Annabelle, 21, were all farewelled in a joint service in front of hundreds of mourners.

Their parents, Lars and Vivian, were killed instantly.

"The irony of this tragedy is that Lars was such a careful driver".

Police believe the crash occurred when a large vehicle crossed the centre line and crashed head on with the Falkholt family's auto.

Whithall - the driver of the second vehicle - is believed to have been driving on the wrong side of the road at the time of the crash.

Falkholt played Hope Morrison on the long-running Australian soap opera.

The Falkholt's family auto was hit by a four-wheel drive on Boxing Day, with the sisters being pulled from the wreckage before it erupted in flames with the bodies of their parents inside.
