In the series, Sherlock is already a famed detective while Enola, 20 years younger, is still at home being raised by their mother.

According to Deadline, Brown will be starring in and producing a film series based on The Enola Holmes Mysteries novel series for Legendary Entertainment.

Although Enola doesn't exist in Arthur Conan Doyle's original Holmes works, Springer's books lean heavily on Doyle's canon and characters: for instance, after arriving in London, Enola runs into Inspector Lestrade, who is on his way to help Sherlock with a case.

The novels feature several characters that Sherlock fans will be familiar with, including Enola and Sherlock's brother Mycroft, and Sherlock's partner Dr Watson. This book and the fifth book, The Case of the Cryptic Crinoline, earned Sprinder nominations for Edgar Awards in 2007 and 2010.

Thanks to her brilliant performance as the super-powered Eleven in Netflix's Stranger Things, Millie Bobby Brown's career is set to go through the roof. Brown will co-produce through her own company PCMA Productions.

The project seems like a great opportunity for Brown to do something different from her Stranger Things role, or even her upcoming role in the Godzilla sequel.
