MLA Asha Kumari later apologised.
Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi has reacted to the incident, said, "I am not happy with it". Kumari then slapped the woman constable, who hit her back. After considerable backlash, she also took to Twitter and clarified the situation calling it an act of self-defence. No one has a right to raise a hand against someone, at least not the Congress culture. "So far I have not made any complaints", she said.
Reports say that the Congress MLA reportedly got angry after she was not allowed to enter the venue of the review meet. The meeting is slated at Rajiv Bhawan, the party's headquarters in Shimla.

News organisations have not yet identified the constable who slapped the MLA back. The review meet headed by Rahul Gandhi was called in to discuss the reasons for the defeat in the state. MLA Asha Kumari had grabbed her home seat, Dalhousie, during the Himachal Pradesh election 2017.
Party leaders and workers started jostling to enter the office soon after Gandhi went inside the building amid a tight security at the Congress office.
Rahul is in Shimla on Friday to review the party's performance in the recently held assembly elections in Himachal Pradesh. The party managed to bag just 21 seats out of 68, while the BJP won 44 seats.
