Reliance Jio announced two new "Happy New Year 2018" recharge offers with 1GB daily data, and now Vodafone has followed suit with similar recharge plans.

The special offer for the Prime customers includes triple cashback of up to Rs 2,599 on every recharge of Rs 399 or above.

Under the Rs 299 prepaid recharge plan, the Jio data users will get unlimited and free high speed data of 56GBs for a period spanning over 28 days. These are the Rs 199 recharge plan and one for Rs 299. The validity is 28 days and it will work in all 4G circles.

Both the pre-paid packs also offer zero national roaming charges, making it lucratively on par with the rival Airtel and Reliance Jio 4G tariff plans. The 199 pack comes with 28GB free data and the daily limit of 1GB data.

After Reliance Jio launched the Rs 199 and Rs 299 plan last week, BSNL and Vodafone have been quick to catch up on the offering. Reliance Jio Infocomm (Jio), for a change, is playing catch up with incumbents by introducing plans for customers who are heavy data users but fall into the lower price point category.

On comparing the Jio and Airtel's plan, we see that the former offers more data than the latter. Both the plans are the monthly plan.

The Rs 199 Jio plan gives 1.2GB/day, unlimited Local, STD, roaming calls, and SMS. This prepaid recharge plan of Jio is valid for 49 days. Airtel at Rs 198 offers 1GB of daily data per day for a period of 28days but with no talktime benefits. Calling and SMS benefits are the same as company's Rs 199 offer.

Airtel has a Rs 199 plan that gives 1GB of 3G/4G data per day for 28 days. Another difference is the unlimited data usage after the daily limit.
