Bryan Singer has just been fired as the director of the upcoming Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody, The Hollywood Reporter confirms. At one point, the actor even reportedly complained to the studio about Singer. Actor Tom Hollander, who is slated to play the role of the band's manager Jim Beach, was also rumored to have left the film due to Singer's on-set behavior, though was persuaded to return. The hope is to have a new director soon for the movie's two remaining weeks of principal photography. All parties allegedly settled their differences prior to Thanksgiving, but when Bryan Singer didn't return to set after the holiday, Fox was left with no choice. For example, insiders tell THR that producers and his star had grown exhausted of Singer's behavior, which saw him routinely show up late to set. His no-shows resulted in cinematographer Thomas Newton Sigel having to step in to helm some of the days while Singer was absent.

THR claims that a representative from the DGA has been on set to monitor the situation, which has apparently turned so toxic that Singer is said to be suffering from PTSD. THR remarks Singer's extended absence as the "final straw" for the studio, which led to his termination today. A new director is expected to be revealed within a few days.
Bohemian Rhapsody is now scheduled to hit theaters in December 2018.
