Elections in Gujarat will be held on December 9 and 14.

Hardik said, "Article 46 will be used by Congress to bring in a bill for non-reserved classes".

Neither Patil nor Congress gave out details of the understanding reached on the reservation formula.

In response, Gujarat's deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel said the agreement showed a two-year-old nexus between the two. "The existing 49 per cent SC/ST/OBC reservation will not be disturbed", he added. "We are all fi ghting for one cause: reservation for the community", he asserted.

The Congress's promise to grant reservation to the Patidar community is nothing but "deception" for votes in the Gujarat polls as the Supreme Court has put a 50 percent cap on quota in education and jobs, Union minister and BJP leader Arun Jaitley said on Monday. Hardik stressed that not just the Patidars but other communities will also gain benefi ts of reservation to be given on the basis of a survey that will be conducted as per guidelines mentioned in the Mandal Commission. It also said Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who "never misses an opportunity to speak on mundane issues, must speak now". "I am of the firm opinion that reservation can be given over 50 per cent", he said.

Hardik Patel also clearly point out that he ahad no enmity with the ruling party and he do not bother about the welfare of 6 crore people of Gujarat.

However, the 23-year-old refrained from saying that his outfit would openly support the Congress.

Gujarat Assembly Elections turn out with big news that Patidars has agreed to Congress quota formula.

"The BJP is shamelessly indulging in alleged acts of bribery, horse trading, misuse of money and muscle power, coercion and threats", said Congress spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvi.

"The Congress has promised that a survey would be carried out within Patel or any other forward community as per the provisions of the OBC Commission and on this basis parameters of economic, social, educational or employment would be used to extend reservation benefits to Patels and other forward communities", Patel said. He does not know anything about the Constitution.

Last week, the court stayed a decision by the Rajasthan government to give quota to Gujjars, which would have pushed by reservation in the state to 54%.

Will Gujarat be the third state remains to be seen.
