Tap Software Update, then press Download and Install for iOS 11.1.1. It is, however, rare for Apple to acknowledge a problem so quickly, suggesting that cold weather is definitively rendering a subset of iPhone X devices unresponsive. Early adopters were reporting that the new flagship needs just a few seconds to stop detecting touches in temperatures around 0 degrees Celsius (or 32 degrees Fahrenheit). Go into Settings General Software Update on your iPhone or iPad to begin the update process.

An Apple spokesperson told The Loop's Dave Mark that "We are aware of instances where the iPhone X screen will become temporarily unresponsive to touch after a rapid change to a cold environment".

Many other users responded to the post where they conveyed similar problems. On Thursday, Apple had released iOS 11.1.1, an update that addresses an autocorrect bug that caused "i" to correct "A [?]" on some devices. "After several seconds the screen will become fully responsive again", Apple said in a statement.

Year-to-date, AAPL has gained 54.06%, versus a 17.57% rise in the benchmark S&P 500 index during the same period. The latest iPad Pros also feature a higher refresh rate for lower latency when using Apple Pencil.

Some manufacturers warn that using their devices in low- or high-temperature conditions can cause issues such shortened battery life or unexplained resets, but this seems to be a new problem with the iPhone X. But some Reddit users said they experienced an unresponsive screen well into that range.

Also, if you haven't been able to get Siri's attention of late by saying "Hey, Siri", well, Apple fixed that too in this update. According to a report, it appears that when the smartphone is exposed to colder weather it renders the touchscreen unresponsive.

The issue emerged when people updated their phones to version 11.1 of the iOS operating system.
