Dragon Ball FighterZ launches early next year in North America and Europe on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Last week, it's also been confirmed that the game's Story Mode will be different than that of recent Arc System Works fighting games, as players will not only take part in battles but also complete side objectives, improve bonds with other characters and much more. These strategical choices will have an overall impact over the fighting abilities for future fights, so choose wisely. Each player picks three characters from the Dragon Ball franchise to form a team and switches between them throughout a match. World Matches are a bit more traditional, with Ranked and Casual 1v1 fights offered.

The pass grants owners eight additional characters, each with their own stamp, lobby avatars, and alternative colors.

Bandai Namco also announced two editions of the game with bonus content.

Dragon Ball FighterZ, first unveiled in June at E3, features a flashy 2D art style that captures the look and feel of the long-running anime.

Digitally pre-ordering either of the two special editions will allow players to unlock SSGSS Goku and SSGSS Vegeta early, and all pre-orders for Xbox One and PS4 will offer early access to an open beta in January. Bandai Namco states that there is a story mode along side the online mode. There's the Dragon Ball FighterZ - FighterZ Edition, which includes a copy of the game and the FighterZ Pass which adds 8 new characters to the roster. It is actually a few days earlier than the Japanese release, which is on February 1, 2018.
