"The Nevada Department of Corrections, in an effort to ensure public safety and reduce the potential for incident, released Orenthal James Simpson #1027820, on October 1, 2017, at 12:08 a.m. from Lovelock Correctional Center", a statement read on the Nevada DOC's official Facebook page.
Simpson has been behind bars since 2008 for armed robbery in a botched bid in Las Vegas to retrieve items that he says were stolen from him after his acquittal in the 1994 killings of his ex-wife and her friend in Los Angeles.
O.J. Simpson was released on parole in Nevada on Sunday, after serving nine years in a state prison on charges stemming from an armed robbery in a Las Vegas hotel room in 2007.
Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi told Fox News on Sunday that Simpson was not welcome in the state.
However, Bondi said on "Fox and Friends" that she might have no legal way to keep Simpson out of Florida. Despite the not guilty verdict, a civil court jury held Simpson liable for the deaths of Brown Simpson and Goldman, awarding their families $33.5 million in damages.

FIFA is set to lift its ban on the poppy following talks with the football associations of the United Kingdom. England players are expected to either wear poppy armbands or have the poppy embroidered on their shirts.
Simpson, 70, was released in the middle of the night on a weekend to avoid creating a media circus, Keast said. "Our biggest concern was our safety and the public's safety and not wanting anybody, paparazzi, to follow him", Keast added.
His longtime friend, Tom Scotto did make it clear at Simpson's parole hearing that we'll be seeing more of him.
In the late 1990s, Simpson also moved to Florida, where "under the state's homestead exemption, forced sale of residences can be blocked", Sports Illustrated explained.
Although he is no longer in prison, Simpson will remain on parole until September 29, 2022. Before his release, Simpson met with his parole officer - he will face restrictions of up to five years of parole supervision. He told parole board members he hoped to move to Florida, where he has friends and family, a plan that must be approved by authorities there. The Nevada parole board forbids parolees from associating with convicted felons and people who engage in criminal activity, or possessing guns and drugs.
