Heat guard Goran Dragic nearly single-handedly put Slovenia in the lead Sunday and it held on to beat Serbia, 93-85, earning Dragic MVP honors in the EuroBasket2017 final in Istanbul. Pau Gasol and Spain, however, were too strong in the end.

In his final worldwide game, Slovenia captain Goran Dragic played a masterful opening three quarters to score 35 points to nearly single-handedly give his team the edge.

Dragic, the Miami Heat guard who was voted MVP of the tournament after the game, watched the final four minutes from the bench due to cramp. In the middle of the final quarter the Serbs after a long chase took the lead, but Slovenia immediately organized dash 12:0 and shut down all questions about the winners of Eurobasket 2017.

Serbia slowed down the pace in the third, which ended with Slovenia up 71-67.
