Earlier today, Google began teasing the Pixel 2 reveal through this website.

It's a no-brainer that Google will load their phone with the latest hardware available at the time of release and make the Pixel 2 a significant improvement over its predecessor. The exact same code (G011C) also showed up on the Global Certification Forum a few weeks ago so it seems fairly certain that this is now the LG-made Pixel XL 2. "Stay tuned for more on October 4". So, Google might be bringing in the Optical Image Stabilisation to the Pixel 2 and the Pixel XL 2 replacing the Electronic counterpart from past year.

According to the Verge, press invites for Google's event on october 4 have been sent out, which means the company will reveal the Pixel 2 on that day. Google's marketing campaign comes after Apple revealed the iPhone X and iPhone 8 devices this week.

You should expect Google to announce two phones, a standard Pixel 2 and an XL version like last year's model (and the offerings from every other smartphone maker). HTC has made Android phones from the very beginning, and it's the United States company's OEM manufacturer for its own Pixel and Pixel 2 devices. It appears that Google is now replacing all Nexus 6P phones with Pixel XLs if the former is under warranty. Rumor has it Google is following Apple's lead and ditching the headphone jack in the Pixel 2. Both phones are also expected to have a squeezable frame not unlike the HTC U11, a feature that will probably be tied to Google Assistant.

Under the hood, the Google Pixel 2 and Google Pixel XL 2 will once again sport the current flagship chipset, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835.

In the recent months, Google has been rumored to be working with LG to launch the upcoming Pixel 2 lineup, which will also feature Pixel 2 XL.
