A coroner's office in OH is investigating the death of a 22-year-old college student who died shortly after his return to the USA after almost a year and a half in North Korean detention, a spokesman said Tuesday.
The coroner's office also reviewed medical records from University of Cincinnati Medical Center and AeroMed Management Group.
They said that Warmbier's brain injury was probably caused by cardiopulmonary arrest cutting the blood supply to the brain. It is not clear if Trump was referring to that call or if he has spoken with the Warmbiers since their son died. The North Koreans blamed a combination of botulism and sleeping pills for Mr. Warmbier's condition, but the doctors found no evidence of botulism.
He had been detained in North Korea since January 2016, when he was arrested in Pyongyang for attempting to steal a propaganda poster from a hotel. However, an autopsy will not be performed in accordance to the family's wishes.
Warmbier's funeral is set for 9 a.m. on Thursday at his former high school just outside of Cincinnati, Ohio. "We'll continue to work with them and others to put pressure on North Korea to change this behavior and the regime", Spicer said.
Otto Warmbier's heartfelt speech during his high school graduation four years ago was the last time his classmates would hear his voice before he embarked on a tour to North Korea while in college.

The organizers of Warmbier's trip say they will no longer take USA citizens to the country.
