One dead after gasoline tanker explodes on I-75 near Dayton

A auto was traveling the wrong way on I-75 on Sunday afternoon when it hit a gas tanker, causing a massive explosion that forced police to shut down traffic in both directions, WDTN-TV reports.

A driver was killed instantly when the truck he was driving crashed into an oil tanker while heading the wrong way down the interstate.

I-75 was closed in both directions, though southbound lanes were due to open around 7 pm.

75 Sbound b/t Rte. Identities haven't been released of either the deceased or truck driver. "We have multiple thoroughfares that are shut down here, all lanes on 75 are shut down at this moment", said Lt. Mark Ponichtera. "The fire crews had to let that burn out before they were able to put foam on that".
