Wade, 40, was taken by helicopter to OU Medical Center.

An Oklahoma sheriff's deputy was shot and killed while serving an eviction notice on Tuesday morning, leading law enforcement on an hours-long manhunt for the suspect before he was caught, authorities said.

Leforce then allegedly stole the deputy's patrol auto, before driving it to a gas station and stealing another vehicle from a woman, the OHP said.

So far, no other injuries have been reported.

The vehicle was spotted later Tuesday morning, but the suspect has yet to be taken into custody. LeForce is accused of shooting Wade, who was standing in the front yard of the home, Devereaux said.

Kera Philippi said she had heard earlier in the day that Wade was still alive, but she did not know his condition.

It wasn't immediately clear what charges LeForce might face.

The last time pastor Robby Robbins saw his old friend, Logan County Deputy David Wade, the officer was at the Easter service with his two school-age boys in tow, wearing his gun and badge like he always did.

Devereaux said LeForce would be interviewed to get his version of events.
