POTOMAC FALLS, Va. (AP) - President Donald Trump says that the United States is prepared to act alone if China does not take a tougher stand against North Korea's nuclear program.

In a separate conversation, Mr Trump's deputy national security adviser, KT McFarland, told the FT there was a "real possibility" North Korea could be capable of hitting the U.S. with a nuclear-armed missile by the end of Trump's first term. "We're going to say what we think, and we're going to move the ball and that's what this is about".

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has adopted an nearly undercover style, spurning most opportunities to talk to the press and public on his travels.

Appearing on the show on Sunday, Haley said other nations are "happy that we're finally beating up on Russia", and she believes Moscow was involved in meddling with the usa election. He discussed the upcoming visit on condition that his name not be used. "She thinks she's operating completely independently of him", said a George W. Bush-era State Department official.

Asked how he would tackle North Korea, Trump said: "I'm not going to tell you". She said Sunday there is "no love" between the United States and Russian Federation.

Her point was that Assad has hung on through six years of conflict, and while the United States would prefer otherwise, he is likely to remain.

Mr Trump has also been a vocal critic of the United Nations, calling it a "good time club" and threatening to cut crucial USA funding to peacekeeping and aid programmes.

Speaking on ABC's "This Week" and CBS's "Face the Nation", the former governor of SC, who was confirmed as ambassador in January, was unequivocal about Russia's meddling in last year's US election."Well, certainly, I think Russian Federation was involved in the election", she told ABC's Martha Raddatz.

A USA think tank reported last month that satellite imagery of North Korea's main nuclear test site indicates that Pyongyang could be in the final stages of preparations for a sixth nuclear test.

"This is now down to do we want to continue to see these ballistic missile attacks from North Korea or does China want to do something about it?"

While noting that Haley did given an answer of some length, sources claimed that it probably showed her inexperience of the subject matter, since most USA officials have assiduously avoided the topic in public, so as not to offend either India or Pakistan.

China, one of the permanent, veto-holding members of the Security Council, is North Korea's traditional defender and economic lifeline.

As the new administration applies some of Trump's campaign rhetoric to the real world, Haley also has been out front on other issues, including Russian intervention in Ukraine.

Speaking on the same show, Barack Obama's last defense secretary, Ash Carter, said he doubted that Beijing would do so. "The a good institution, but it was kidnapped by evil forces and I believe with Ambassador Haley, and my team, we can work together, and maybe, maybe change the U.N. and bring it back to what it should be".
