Apr. 05 (ANI): 18-year-old Pakistan leg spinner Shadab Khan, who made a dream start to his worldwide career during the recently-concluded successful T20 series against West Indies, has been retained in the 16-member Test squad for the three-match series against the Caribbean side, beginning April 21 at Sabina Park.

The first Test between Pakistan and West Indies will start in Jamaica on April 21, the second in Barbados on April 30 and the third in Dominica on May 10.

West Indies head coach Stuart Law has revealed that all-rounder Carlos Brathwaite was dropped from the ODI squad for the upcoming series against Pakistan so that he can work on his fitness and bowling.

"The focus of selection committee is that if we have two spinners with different variations and both could become match-winners, then why can't both play in one match", Ahmed was quoted as saying by Associated Press in Lahore on Wednesday. Mushtaq Ahmed, who played alongside Abdul Qadir, Shahid Afridi and Danish Kaneria, believed the 18-year-old would gain invaluable learnings playing with Yasir, who has established himself as Pakistan's finest and one of the best in the world now.

"The selectors may have had a reason not to pick Sohail for limited-overs matches but being the leading Pakistan Super League wicket-taker, Sohail surely should be brought back for the Test series".

Russell Henley rallies to victory at Houston Open
It was Henley's first win since a playoff victory over Rory McIlroy in the 2014 Honda Classic. His hopes were all but gone when he missed a 5-foot birdie attempt on No. 16.

Inzamam said Shadab had performed better than predicted. Yasir has proved himself over the last two years and he has no match.

"Shadab could learn, too, by staying with Yasir, like I learnt from Qadir bhai (brother) and then Danish (Kaneria) learnt from me when I was his senior".

Misbah-ul-Haq will lead Pakistan in the Tests, which follow the three-match one-day series starting in Guyana on Friday.

ACB said the Afghan team is for the first time facing the Champions of the T20 Internationals, expressing hopes that the Afghan team would put on display a good performance during the One Day Internationals against the host.
