Verizon to take 'Oath' as new company to run Yahoo

The rebranding was apparently not meant to be made public just yet, but yesterday Business Insider cited unnamed sources who revealed the new company name.

Here's a press release from AOL's chief marketing officer... The new company is expected to launch this summer after Verizon's acquisition of Yahoo is completed.

PS- Never let Marissa Mayer give you name ideas based on "Tronc". A rep for Yahoo declined to comment beyond a statement from Mayer when the Verizon deal was first announced past year.

As Recode adds, it will also be interesting to see if she gets the full pay-out she is owed, after the recent hacking disaster and the general downturn in Yahoo's business during her tenure.

The future of Yahoo's internet business under telecom titan Verizon has become a lot clearer after reports that it is to merge with AOL later this year.
