1 dead in Las Vegas strip shooting, gunman surrenders

One person is dead and another wounded after a shooting on a bus in Las Vegas, police said. The suspect is barricaded on a bus, and tactical teams and negotiators are on the scene on Las Vegas Boulevard.

One victim was brought to University Medical Center of Southern Nevada's trauma center in an unknown condition, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal. The strip is shut down between Flamingo Road and Harmon Avenue.

Dozens of police cars surrounded the double-decker bus, which was wrapped in advertisements.

Around 11:30 a.m. Las Vegas police reported that they were investigating a shooting that occurred on South Las Vegas Boulevard.

Initial reports claimed that an active shooter may have been present, but police say there are no active shooters at any nearby casinos.

Burglars used sledgehammers to smash the windows of the store in the Bellagio Hotel, police said.
